(a year of non-stop happiness)
It wasn’t our best week. Nothing terrible happened, but things weren’t going to plan. Deliveries getting lost, laptops crashing, people cancelling really important meetings about venues… just the usual small things that are sometimes harder to handle than at other times. We’re only human after all.
But then we saw an interview with a Dutch comedian.
He said that if he plays a show in a theatre and 800 people have enjoyed themselves for an hour and a half, he has created 1,200 hours of fun.
That got us thinking.
Including artists, crew, volunteers and ticketholders, roughly 6,000 people come to Left of the Dial. If they all have at least one great hour a day during the festival, we’ve created well over a year of full-time happiness.
That got us all motivated again. Forget about laptops and meetings. Next week we’ll be back, working harder than ever to stretch that one great hour a day into two great hours. Maybe even three.
